Project PoMigra

with the financial support from the Internal Security Fund
(ISF-decentral, German National Programme ISF) of the European Union)

European Union

In July 2016, the ISF-funded project PoMigra (=Politically motivated crime in the light of current migration flows) embarked under the lead of the German BKA. The project was joined by seven other EENeT experts as partner (experts from Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Italy and the, Netherlands). The project, which will run until June 2018, will research the nexus between recent migration flows and extremist crime. Therefore, the project partner will draft comparable national situation reports. The project investigates as well opportunities to compare national data on extremist violence and will formulate recommendations for more effective prevention measures.

During the lifecycle of the project, EENeT conferences will act for the project partners as supporting think tank, supporting the project partners in their analysis.

The following EENeT conference, combined with a workshop of the "PoMigra-group", will take place in Germany in November 2017.

Networking

Despite EENeT's relatively short history, the network has already developed and established several channels and procedures for networking:

  • Notice-Board: All members may send information or requests about ongoing studies, research questions, conferences and any other relevant information referring to the phenomenon of terrorism to the EENeT Administrative Office, where the messages are gathered and disseminated to all members through sporadically sent Notice Boards.
  • Website: The Internet platform may also be used to place relevant information for longer periods.
  • Contact Lists: The Administrative Office disseminates within the network lists with contact details of the EENeT members, so that the members may also maintain contact at bilateral level.
  • Subgroups: The members may team up EENeT subgroups, to discuss and work on specific issues within smaller working groups.
